Just got back from a big Picnic for the Royal Arts and I am beat. Nothing like being part of a group of old guys trying to play a game of touch Football. I think I will be reminded in the morning that I am not as young as I think I am anymore.
But anyway the last couple of days have been interesting in the news. But there is one thing I feel like chatting about right now and that is about Lance Armstrong. Those of you that know me know that I am a big support of Lance and a member of the Livestrong Army. So, where I fall I the lines is actually pretty simple. Leave the guy alone and let him do the work he does now! Stop trying to ruin him and what he did by calling him a cheat. How many times did he test? How many times did he fail?He didn't fail once.
Still the witch hunt went on because if those few that one it once or twice cheated and got caught then someone that had to win it seven times had to cheat. But in the process of going after him you just proved that testing in the sport is useless. Even though he passed you didn't get the result you wanted so you beat him down until he is tired. It's funny I am reading some different things about the Tour de France. So many of these riders have had their titles stripped from testing positive but in the Tour's eyes some of them are still considered Champions. The sport is messed up.
Here's the thing about this that kills me thought. There are people out there that are comparing this to Melky Caberra, and Joe Paterno. If you are doing that Stop. Really please stop! There is no comparison, Melky was an idiot. And Paterno well that's another story. Lance never got caught and he didn't let some horrible crimes go on for way to long.
The thing that is cool about this whole thing is Nike isn't going to drop him. Glad to see it! Smart move for Nike.
So now he is done with all and walked away from the sport he loved to go back to fighting a bigger baddy and we are glad that he is back.
Livestrong!
